Add custom domain names in your Azure Active Directory

Many times we have the requirement to use an existing domain with our Azure Active Directory. Following step by step guide will help you to configure your Azure Active Directory service for use with a custom domain name registered with an external domain registrar.
Step 1: Login to Azure Portal
Step 2: Select Azure Active Directory service for your Azure Account
Step 3: Select Custom domain names
Step 4: Click Add custom domain
Step5: Enter your domain name
Step 6: Click Add domain
Step 7: Now, in order to use the domain with your Azure AD, create a new TXT record with your domain name registrar using the information in your Azure screen:
For this example my custom domain name registrar is Google Domains.

Step 8: Once the record is added click verify on Azure Portal Add Domain screen. If verification succeeds following screen will appear -
Step 9: Check the status of your new domain on ‘Custom domain names’ screen, Make sure it shows “Verified” under status column.
There you go, now your custom domain name is available for use with your Azure Active Directory.
